FIELD CREW

Are you a high school or college student looking for a summer job or work during a “gap semester”?  Does your career leave you with some extra time to work during the summer?  Are you down for physical, rewarding work in the outdoors? Are you looking to get your first experience working on a farm? We have the job for you!

POSITION DETAILS:

·      Minimum 10 week commitment

·      Full time OR Part time (minimum 20 hours a week)  

·      Positions available May through November

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

·      Crops: help us plant, hoe and hand weed vegetable, herb, flower, and berries

·      Harvest: join in most harvest activities, paying close attention to quality and efficiency

·      Post-harvest: help us wash and pack our produce

QUALIFICATIONS:  

·      Motivated to work on a fast-paced commercial farm 

·      Excited about growing food

·      Able to follow instructions and seek guidance when needed 

·      Able to arrive on time each day and meet weekly schedule commitments 

·      Able to lift about 35 lbs; willingness to ask for help when needed

·      Able to work outside in all weather conditions, including rain, heat and cold

·      Previous farm experience not necesary!

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

·      $16 per hour; opportunity for up to 5% raise after 3 month review

·      Overtime pay above 40 hours/week

·      Sick time (accrues at 1 hour per 40 hours worked), vested after 2 months on the job

·      Weekly share of farm produce and flowers

·      20% Discount for non-farm goods sold at our Farmstand
